Meetup #11: Tech Careers in 2026: The New Rules of Getting Hired
Thanks to everyone who joined us at IDEA Mississauga for a great conversation on what it actually takes to get hired in tech right now.
Why We Exist
Mississauga and the wider West GTA has always had the talent, the ambition, and the entrepreneurial spirit. What it needed was a place to come together.
Grow West GTA's Tech Ecosystem
With Mississauga as its epicentre — harnessing the region's deep tech talent and untapped potential to build something that matters on a national stage.
A Judgement-Free Space
Where tech professionals, enthusiasts, and entrepreneurs can interact openly — sharing experiences and learning from each other without fear.
A Third Space for Remote Tech Professionals
For those working remotely who want to meet people like them in person — right here in their own neighbourhood, without the commute to Toronto.
What We Do
Community Meetups
Regular in-person gatherings focused on knowledge sharing and networking. A space to meet fellow tech professionals, share insights, and build meaningful connections.
WhatsApp Community
A platform for continuous engagement and guidance between members of all levels of seniority. It serves as a hub for mentorship opportunities, job postings, and daily discussions.
Co-Create & Co-Build
Done in both our WhatsApp platform and In-Person meetups where people collaborate to share what they are building and seek help. We also host a Builder Showcase for local founders to demo products, gather feedback, and get community support.
Compass Newsletter
Keeping the community updated on the latest trends in the tech world. Curated insights, upcoming events, and opportunities delivered straight to your inbox.
