📣 SaugaTech Update: June 14 Meetup, Call for Speakers & What’s Shifting in Tech

May 21, 2025

As the dust settles from our second meetup — and conversations continue in DMs, coffees, and side projects — we’re starting to notice something interesting:

SaugaTech is turning into more than just a meetup.
It’s becoming a mindset.
A space for real talk in tech.
A community where experience meets experimentation.

And with that momentum, we’re excited to announce what’s next — and how you can help shape it.

📅 1. Save the Date: June 14 — Meetup #3 is Coming

We’re back at it on Friday, June 14 for the third SaugaTech meetup — while we are yet to finalize the location, the registrations are now officially open!

If you've been part of the first two, you know the vibe: diverse thinkers, honest conversations, and zero fluff. And if you're new — we can't wait to welcome you in.

👉 Register here
🗓️ RSVP early — spots fill up fast.

🎤 2. Call for Speakers & Moderators — Help Lead the Conversation

We’re currently looking for:

  • A keynote speaker to share real-world lessons from building, scaling, or experimenting in tech

  • Panel moderators or discussion leaders to guide informal, high-signal conversations

Whether you're a founder, engineer, designer, PM, or curious builder — if you’ve got a story or a question worth exploring, we’d love to hear from you.

No need for polish — we’re here for real discussions and brainstorming, not TED talks.

💬 3. What Should We Talk About?

Have a topic in mind?

A startup idea you want to brainstorm on?
A bold take you want challenged?
A tool or approach you're experimenting with?

We're shaping the agenda based on community input, and your voice matters.

Drop us a message on saugatechproduct@gmail.com with your idea — or even better, step up to moderate the discussion.

🌐 The Tech World Keeps Moving

Meanwhile, outside our own bubble, the industry continues to shift:

🔹 Keep, a Canadian fintech, just raised $108M out of stealth to reinvent small business banking — bringing automation, global access, and rewards to entrepreneurs who’ve long been underserved.

🔹 Microsoft recently announced another round of global layoffs, impacting teams in Azure and Mixed Reality. Even the most stable names in tech are pivoting in this AI-first era.

🔹 Builder.ai, once considered a leader in the no-code space, is shutting down — a stark reminder that strong funding alone doesn’t guarantee product-market fit.

🔹 And just yesterday, Google’s I/O event unveiled a wave of AI-powered updates across Search, Workspace, and Android — further cementing how deeply generative AI is being woven into the future of everyday tools and workflows.

This is why local, founder- and builder-led conversations matter more than ever. SaugaTech isn’t here to predict the future — we’re here to navigate it, together.

📣 Spread the Word — Help Us Grow the Community

SaugaTech has grown organically so far— through conversations, intros, and word of mouth.

If you've found value in the sessions so far, we’d love your help in spreading the word.
👥 Share the registration link with your friends, colleagues, family, and social feeds.
Every person who joins adds a new layer of insight and perspective.

Let’s keep this grassroots, diverse, and open.

👀 Let’s Build Meetup #3 Together

So here’s how you can help us do that

Register for June 14
📢 Pitch a talk or suggest a topic
💬 Share the registration link far and wide — let’s make this the biggest one yet

We’ll announce the speaker lineup soon. Until then, keep the convos going — in your DMs, over coffee, or wherever ideas find you.

See you soon,
