Earlier this month, the release of OpenAI’s GPT-5.2 (internally codenamed “Garlic”) and the full rollout of the o1 family signaled a philosophical shift in AI. We are moving away from “Probabilistic Guessing” and into the era of Inference-Time Reasoning.

GPT-5.2: The “Thinking” Architect

OpenAI rushed this release after Gemini 3 began outperforming them on key logic benchmarks.
